Summer so far...

Here are a few posts about what we have been doing this summer, so far anyway. More fun to come! Scroll down there are about 4 new posts.

Fishing trip

We went fishing on Monday and the kids had so much fun. Well catching Crawdads we couldn't catch any fish so they just caught Craw dads.

Adyson has decided she wants to start blogging but being the mean mom I am I won't let her have her own blog so she is starting to use the family blog so that it is very monitored. This was her fist post. Good Job Addy, happy blogging!

Running with Angels

We ran our 1st 5k a couple of weekends ago, and my little family did so AWESOME! We ran for Daison's sister's baby who did in January of this year, and I'm really glad that we did. It was so cool to see all of the people there running for someone they loved. All of us did really well and I am really proud of every one of them. Now I want to do another one just so that I can see if I can beat my time. I've decided that's how they suck you into running all of these marathons. Because you want to keep running more so that you can see if you can beat all of your previous times.

Yellowstone

After our Bear World excursion we decided since we were so close to Yellowstone we would take the kids to see Old Faithful. It was pretty cold but the kids had fun. We got there just in time to see Old Faithful blow then we went walking around to see everything else. There were tons of buffalo wandering around and the kids thought it was so cool for the first few hours, after a while they wanted to see other animals.

We did see the huge Eagle's nest which was pretty awesome. It was a fun little weekend trip. We decided we need to really go back and stay longer so the kids can experience Yellowstone even more. We can't wait to go back.

Bear World

M My dad took us to Bear World over Adyson's birthday. The kids had a blast! The 3 older kids were able to feed the baby bears (Cameron was too young, maybe next year). They have a lot of stuff for the kids to do there. They rode the rides, there is a petting zoo with deer that the kids can go up to and feed them. I didn't think Cameron would even get near them, but he surprised us and walked up to the doe and gave her a handful of food. There were a couple of fawns there that the kids were able to sit by and get a picture with them.

After the petting zoo we drove our car through the wild bears. There are a lot of wild bears along with wolves, moose, elk, and an albino elk. The kids thought driving through the wild bears was so cool. Adyson was a little nervous when we started she kept saying, "Mom make sure there is no food in the car, I don't want the bears to get in our car to get the food." Finally Daison broke it to her that WE were food. From then on she was nervous that we were going to roll our windows down. Funny girl! It was a lot of fun and I would recommend taking your family there if you get a chance. Thanks Dad for the trip we had a blast!

Gavin's 8!

Gavin turns 8 today and I can't believe it! Time seems to fly by when you get older. I think Daison and I are in shock to have a child in Scouts! I know Adyson is almost 10 but when you hear that your child is old enough to go into Scouts it just makes you feel like you are so old.

Gavin is so much fun to have in our family. He is always trying to be funny. As you can see in this picture he loves his picture taken and he will try to get the funniest pose he can so that you will laugh. He loves to make people laugh. Gavin also has a very sweet side to him. He hates when people are mad at him, or he thinks that he has disappointed you in any way.

Gavin loves to play soccer, and is quite good at it. He really knows what he is doing. He is very competitive, just ask anyone in our family, he always wants to do the most push-ups, or be the first one done with his dinner, he even is competitive at school. His teacher always tells us that he has to be the first one done with his work.

We love you Gavin and I hope you have a great birthday!

New York Continued!!

We got up early on Monday morning and went to the Today Show. The kids did really good, but they got bored of waiting to get on TV. We weren't standing in the right spot so we didn't get on.

We were able to see Al Roker though. The kids thought it was cool, at the time, I don't think they really know who he is.

After the Today Show we went to the NBC Store. That was so fun. Talk about bringing back memories.

I might be the only one who watched Saved By The Bell growing up but I had to get a picture of this shirt. My brother Colby and I watched this show every Saturday morning. I totally remember the Zack Attack band. They had Bayside Tigers shirts there too. I should have bought one for the memories.

The Statue of Liberty is pretty awesome to see. I don't think you can appreciate it until you see it in person. It was amazing to see. It was raining when we went to see it. Still it was fun. I think Adyson liked it a lot, she might have just liked being able to use the umbrella, who knows.

We let the kids ride the Ferris Wheel that is inside the Toys R Us at Times Square. They had fun riding that. That was one of Adyson's favorite things to do. Can you believe they fit a HUGE Ferris Wheel inside a store. I couldn't believe it.

We went to FAO Schwartz. I know you all recognize this piano. It was on the movie BIG! We played on it for a little while. Pretty cool. Yes even I got on it. I don't have any pictures of me, but I think Shirley got some. I ordered one of these for my house, it will be fun. Just kidding they cost $250,000.00. Oh wait I have that laying around my house. Yea right!
Everyone keeps asking me who took care of the boys while I was gone. Are you ready for this? DAISON did! He did an awesome job. Even Cameron had fun with him. He made sure that the boys didn't just sit at home the whole time. He took them to do a lot of different things and to visit people. Thanks Babe for working so hard so that Addy and I were able to go. I owe you one!

New York !!

Adyson and I had the opportunity to go to New York with Daison's Mom Shirley, his sister Brandi, her son Stockton, Daison's Aunt Bobbie, and her granddaughter Kelli. We had a ball! Thanks Shirley and Bobbie for making it so much fun for us!
Times Square is just like it looks in the movies and on TV. The buildings almost look like they are fake. There were so many lights that when we went out at night Adyson thought it was daytime.

Stockton, Kelli, and Adyson at Mars 2112. I wouldn't recommend eating at this restaurant, but it was pretty fun. Live and Learn right?

We went and saw The Lion King on Broadway. It was AWESOME!! I would highly recommend this show to anyone, with or without kids. Now I want to see Wicked or Mamma Mia. (How fun would that be?!)

We went to a Yankees game. They were playing the Tampa Bay Rays. It was fun to see all of the Yankee fans and be part of the crowd. It was so hot, and I nearly melted, literally, if you want to ask me maybe I will show you the pics. I didn't want to post it on the blog and have everyone and their dog see me at my best.

Adyson sporting her sunglasses and her brothers new Yankees hat. She told me that she can't believe that boys can wear hats, because they are so hot! She is so stinkin cute!

This is only half of the stadium! It was PACKED! I love how the grass looks on baseball fields. Don't you?

After the game we went and cooled off at Serendipity's. It was sooooo yummy! Highly recommended! The Frozen Hot Chocolate is to die for. I had to take a picture of this, it reminds me of Gavin. Anyone who knows him knows that he LOVES CHOCOLATE!! I bought some packets of the Hot Chocolate to bring home and let the boys taste. It is pretty good, but nothing like at Serendipity's.
This is only the first couple of days in New York. More pics to come shortly!
